The Principal of Government College, Katsina, Isyaku Bello Kofarsoro, was only invited to the state ministry of education to verify the result he released, Commissioner of Education Professor Kado Kurfi said at the weekend. No EU observers for N'East in Nig elections

The European Union has declared that it will not deploy election observers in the North-East because of the security challenges in the zone. The Chief Observer of the European Union Election Observer Mission in Nigeria, Ambassador Santiago Fisas, made this known when members of the mission visited the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, on Monday. Fisas said that the EU Election Observer Mission had been in the country since November 2014, and its members had commenced their assignment by monitoring the primaries of the political parties. The billboards of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party featuring President Goodluck Jonathan, as well as those of the main opposition All Progressives Congress of Muhammadu Buhari, located on Accra roads, were pulled down over the weekend by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly. President Goodluck Jonathan President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday disclosed that the Nigerian military would take delivery of some additional platforms between this week and next week, in his administration’s quest to end insurgency in parts of the country. The Independent National Electoral Commission has rejected the governorship candidates of seven parties. Others are the United Democratic Party in Rivers State; and the Peoples Democratic Movement in Sokoto and Zamfara states. No reason was given by the commission for the action, which was made known via its bulletin. The commission did not also give the names of the affected candidates.
