Sorry guurls! The pirate of the Carribean is getting married next weekend. For real!

Johnny Depp will reportedly tie the knot with his fiancée Amber Heard at a ceremony held next weekend on his private island in the Bahamas. According to the New York Post's Page Six, the Mortdecai star and Amber will marry in an intimate service in front of around 50 guests, including the actress' family and Johnny’s two children, Lily-Rose, 15, and 12-year-old Jack.
The wedding will take place at the actor's 45-acre Little Hall's Pond Cay island home, where accommodation is so limited that many of the invitees will apparently be staying on Johnny’s yacht during the celebrations.

Johnny, 51, and Amber, 28, first met while making the 2011 film The Rum Diary, and got engaged in December 2013 after a year of dating. They are said to have chosen their wedding date – the weekend of 7-8 February – because of their busy work schedules.
"She's filming a movie in London and he's getting ready to film the next Pirates of the Caribbean in Australia. So this is the only time that everyone could get together," a source revealed.
The insider also said that Amber has chosen a wedding dress designed by Stella McCartney for her big day.

Johnny bought his tropical paradise while shooting Pirates of the Caribbean in 2004, for $3.6million. The island, which is only accessible by seaplane or boat, has six beaches, which the actor chose to name after important people in his life – Paradis, after his then partner Vanessa Paradis, Lily Rose and Jack, after his children, Gonzo, after his friend Hunter S. Thompson, and Brando, after Marlon Brando, another mentor.
"I don't think I'd ever seen any place so pure and beautiful," Johnny told Vanity Fair in 2009 about the island. "You can feel your pulse rate drop about 20 beats. It's instant freedom

Really? Read what a Muslim cleric said concerning sodomy in Islam

Being sodomised is acceptable in Islam if the goal is to carry out jihad, according to a cleric on a new video making the rounds online.

In a video posted on YouTube last month, and as reported by the New York-based think-tank Gatestone Institute more recently, cleric Abu al-Dema al-Qasab's instructions include details on how to carry out a successful suicide bombing mission by hiding explosives in the bomber's anus.

"However, to undertake this jihadi approach you must agree to be sodomized for a while to widen your anus so it can hold the explosives," al-Dema al-Qasab tells followers in the video.
There is no indication where or when the video was recorded, but appears by the screen to have been aired on Fadak TV, a Shia-based satellite television station. The background of al-Dema al-Qasab is also unknown.

Author Raymond Ibrahim, who wrote the article for Gatestone, denies claims the video is a hoax intended to insult Islam.
The Gatestone Institute's homepage indicates it specializes in international policy and the Middle East.

Sodomy is forbidden in Islam but according to al-Dema al-Qasab's video, everything is permissible if the objective is in the best interests of the jihad.

In 2009, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a Nigerian national, attempted to blow up a plane bound for Detroit by igniting a bomb planted in his underwear. That led to the introduction of body scanners at airports worldwide which can see through clothing.

The scanners, however, cannot see inside body cavities, and authorities expressed fear at the time that terrorists would likely try to evolve their attacks to avoid detection.

Olamide

Olamide is a musician that needs no introduction to many Nigerians as a musician of repute. His lyrical raps basically in Yoruba language has indeed, gathered a huge following among the Nigerian youth.
Now, he has delved into another aspect. With total commitment to the Change phenomenon sweeping across Nigeria, Olamide and has released two singles to support the campaign of General Muhammadu Buhari, the APC presidential candidate and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, his running mate of the All Progressives' Congress (APC).
The YBNL boss has before now featured in a couple of campaign songs for the APC in collaboration with other artistes,  but thereafter he cemented his support for the ticket by recording the songs.
The first song is titled ‘APC Ese’ (Thank You) while the second is titled ‘The Change We Want’.  We are not surprised; Osinbajo was present at Olamide’s album launch last year and even described Olamide as an impressive young man.

WhatsApp has rolled out the feature that would now allow users to send and receive messages, pictures or videos on their Windows computers.
The feature is now available only for the Android users and is expected to roll out for the iOS soon.

You can also try Opera and other browsers but there may be slight technical issues.
WhatsApp will always be running on your phone and the web based tool doesn’t create its own interface. It simply mirrors the content that is being displayed on your phone. So, all your messages and files will be there on your smartphone as well as your phone. Your phone should be connected to the internet at all times in order to receive and send messages besides doing other activities.
How to install it?
  • Download the latest version of WhatsApp from the Google Play store. You should have it because the new web feature is available only in this build and it wouldn’t work with older versions.
  • Open the Google Chrome browser. Type in and visit the linkhttp://web.WhatsApp.com
  • You will find an option in your mobile app named the WhatsApp Web in the menu bar. Click on it and open the QR code – reader.
  • Scan it and your phone will instantly establish a connection with the web client. It will now start mirroring the messages and content that is being displayed on your phone.
Everything that you have been doing on the mobile version of the app can be done on your PC. As a user, you will be able to send or receive messages, send voice messages, emojis to your friends or family as well as view your contact list to find new people to message to. More features and bug fixes are expected soon.

APC accuses PDP of buying PVCs for N5,000 in Edo

PVCs1The senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Edo Central senatorial zone, Chief Francis Inegbeneki, has raised the alarm that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are purchasing Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs from elderly people in APC dominated areas with the intent of destroying them.
Inegbenekhi, who warned that the people of the area would not tolerate any attempt to rig the election in Edo Central by the PDP, called on the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Foluso Adebanjo and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to thoroughly investigate the matter with a view to arresting all those involved.
The Senatorial candidate further alleged that the PDP members were buying the PVCs at N5,000 each and have bought many from those willing to sell them out.
Ihimekpen said, “Edo Central belongs to the PDP, so it is preposterous to accuse the PDP of planning to rig in an environment that already belongs to us.”
He however insisted in a chat with reporters in Benin that the APC was aware of the PDP usual pranks and vowed that the party would take measures to put an end to the anomaly.
“We are aware that the PDP has started playing pranks again. We have discovered that they are buying PVCs from our aged parents, they will go and offer them N5, 000 and they have purchased many. They are doing this in areas they feel is APC dominated, but we will stop them now.
“They resorted to that because they know we are going to beat them with a large margin. They are going about buying PVCs to destroy them. We have asked the police to help us arrest these people.
“On our part, we have beamed our searchlight on them and whoever we catch we will take to the police for prosecution. The PDP knows that they have no place to hide anymore.”

Nigeria currency devaluation likely after general polls

Central Bank of Nigeria
Central Bank of Nigeria
NIGERIAN economic analysts believe the upcoming general elections played a part in the Central Bank of Nigeria retaining the value of the Naira amid pressure the United States currency.
The elections, projected to be the fiercest in recent memory, are scheduled for next month.
On Tuesday, CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele ruled out the possibility of floating the Naira as it would cause a significant depreciation of the local unit, and in turn affect the purchasing power of the consumer.
The naira posted an all-time high of US$/N192, 10 on the day despite sustained intervention by the CBN and a 0, 4 increase in commercial banks’ foreign currency position limits.
An analyst said the disparities between the official and interbank rates suggest that another devaluation might be in the offing if the oil price remains at current levels.
“The CBN cannot defend the value of the Naira indefinitely,” the market watcher said.
Rand Merchant Bank (RMB), the international thinktank, said authorities would be compelled to shift the Naira’s mid-point from US$/N168 to a 205,9 to achieve its budget revenue in 2015, assuming production levels of 2,1m barrels per day and an optimistic oil price of US$70/barrel.
“That said, we believe the CBN might let sleeping dogs lie ahead of the presidential elections and alter its stance only at its March or May MPC sittings.
“Abandoning the peg would also be ill-timed due to the extent of
portfolio outflows,” RMB stated.

War threat: Arrest Dokubo, Tompolo - Danjuma

A former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (retd.), has called for the arrest of an ex-Niger Delta militants, including Mujahideen   Dokubo-Asari and Government Ekpudomenowei(akaTompolo)   for   threatening to declare war against the nation if President Goodluck loses the February 14 election.
Danjuma, who described the threat as “unguarded and reckless,” warned that “miscreants” must not be allowed to hold the country by the jugular.
Dokubo-Asari, had at a meeting on Friday at the Bayelsa State Government House, Yenagoa, urged an end to what he termed, the intimidation of the Ijaw by other Nigerians.
“For every Goliath, God created a David. For every Pharaoh, there is a Moses. We are going to war. Every one of you should go and fortify yourself,” he said.
At the meeting were Governor Seriake Dickson, Ekpudomenowei, Victor Ebikabowei (aka Boy Loaf), the   Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, Kingsley Kuku and the   President General, the Ijaw Youth Council, Udengs Eradiri.
Boyloaf also said at the meeting that if the North succeeded in regaining power on February 14,   the people of the Niger Delta would take their oil back.
However, Danjuma while inaugurating the Kwankwasiyya City alongside   Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, on Wednesday wondered why Dokubo-Asari and Ebikabowei were heating up the polity.
He reminded them that since Nigeria and its resources belonged to everyone,   no one   must hold the government to ransom.
The former Defence minister, therefore, urged the necessary government agencies to immediately arrest the ex-militants.
“You should arrest Asari Dokubo, Tompolo, Boyloaf and other Niger Delta militants for making reckless statements, which in any way does not mean keeping Nigeria as one entity. They   create a war situation.
“Those were reckless statements coming from irresponsible individuals; they should be condemned and   arrested immediately,” he said.
In a situation like this, the issue of entrenching peace in the country is what is needed most. We should not allow some miscreants to hold us to ransom,” he said.
Danjuma, who served as a Defence minister during the Olusegun Obasanjo administration, added,   “Nigeria belongs to everybody and we must do everything possible to safeguard her unity.”
He also asked politicians to stop making utterances capable of overheating the polity.
The former minister said, “As we are approaching election time, we must strive to ensure that important issues are thoroughly discussed but not personalities. We want to have a perfect election where no one would have an axe to grind with anybody.
“Once   politicians base their campaigns on issues not personalities and avoid anything capable of causing disaffection, I am confident that we would have foul-free elections.”
He commended Kwankwaso for providing physical infrastructure in the last four years and described the Kwankwasiyya City as one of the modern edifices in the current democratic dispensation.

Africa is the origin of the human race, new discovery reinforces it

John Yemma, the editor of Christian Science Monitor, first alerted me to the news in his editorial comment in an edition five years ago that this is the best kept secret in the world of Science: that humanity originated from Africa. Explanations abound to how from this region, homo sapiens mutated into different races.

Now, a breakthrough discovery confirms in a discovery that excited paleontologists said offers strong insights into how humans came to colonise the world.

National / GettyNeanderthal
Prehistoric romps: The discovery shows that interbreeding may have happened 55,000 years ago
An ancient skull found by experts could be the key to discovering how humans made their way out of Africa and colonised the world.
The braincase, found in a cave in northern Israel, also gives paleontologists a hint to where the very first prehistoric romps between humans and Neanderthals took place.
Experts have dated the skull, understood to belong to a woman, back to 55,000 years ago.
It reveals that humans arrived in the region which was heavily populated with Neanderthals at the time.
Bones of Neanderthals dated to the same era have been found just 24 miles away from the cave in Galilee, meaning that scientists could trace the interbreeding that left non-Africans with the DNA of Neanderthals.
National PicturesA skull
Discovery: A skull from one of the earliest known Europeans has been found in an Israeli cave
Israel Hershkovitz, of Tel Aviv University, told the Guardian: “It’s amazing.
"This is the first specimen we have that connects Africa to Europe.
“We couldn’t believe our eyes. We immediately realised it was a prehistoric cave and that it had been inhabited for a very long time.
"Because the entrance had collapsed so long ago, it had been frozen in time. Nobody had been inside for 30,000 years.
“There is a huge central cave and several beautiful side chambers.
"In one side chamber, the skull was lying there on top of a rocky shelf. It was there waiting for us. We just had to pick it up."
It could be tied to why all the races in the world have dark-skinned aborigines in their communes.

APC sues NCC

The All Progressives Congress has asked a Federal High Court in Lagos to compel the Nigerian Communications Commission to pay it N25bn as damages for allegedly banning its presidential campaign fund-raising scheme.
Joined with the NCC as respondents in the suit marked FHC/L/CS/16/15 are Etisalat, MTN Nigeria Limited, Globacom Limited, Airtel Nigeria and Visafone Communications Limited.
In an 18-paragragh affidavit deposed to by one Ademola Sodiq, the APC accused the NCC of instructing the 2nd to 6th respondents to discontinue an SMS platform it created for the purpose of getting donations from willing members of the public for its presidential campaign.
According to Sodiq, the participatory fund-raising strategy was for members of the public to contribute N100 to the APC’s presidential campaign fund each time they sent APC as an SMS to 35350.
Sodiq explained that the party’s strategy was borne out of its commitment to raising fund for its presidential campaign in a “transparent and accountable manner.”
The deponent said that within few hours of launching the strategy the party was getting about four to five text messages per a minute and had received a total of 5,400 SMS before the NCC directed the telecommunications service providers to discontinue the scheme.
Sodiq said, “Shortly after the applicant announced its participatory fund-raising strategy on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, the first respondent immediately addressed a letter to the 2nd respondent, which was received in Lagos, wherein a purported directive was given to all telecommunications service providers (2nd to 6th respondents inclusive), warning them “to avoid running political advertisement/promotions that will portray them as being partisan.”
According to Sodiq, the NCC in the letter with reference number NCC/CAB/GEN/2015/Vol.1/004 and back-dated January 19, 2015 also threatened to sanction the telecommunications service providers if they failed to discontinue the SMS forthwith.
Sodiq said, “Since the purported directive of the 1st respondent which affects the applicant’s SMS code 35350 platform, members, loyalists, supporters, sympathisers and other Nigerians, who intend to donate to the presidential campaign of the applicant have been incapacitated from using the platform, which has inhibited the plaintiff’s financial capacity to effectively prosecute its presidential campaign.”
Accusing the NCC of discriminating against the APC, Sodiq said he remembered and had proof that President Goodluck Jonathan and his vice, Namadi Sambo, in 2010 raised fund for their campaign using short codes designated: 6661, 662, 6663 and 6664, registered with one Wagitel Communications Limited.
According to Sodiq, by banning the APC presidential campaign fund-raising scheme, the NCC contravened Section 39 of the 1999 Constitution and Articles 9 (1) (2) and 19 of the African Charter on Human and People’s Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) Act, Cap. A9, Law of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
The APC counsel, Mr. Kola Awodein (SAN), while urging the court to declare the NCC’s directive as “unconstitutional, illegal, null, void and of no effect” argued that the NCC acted ultra vires its power when it gave such directive against the provisions of sections 39 and 42 of the Nigerian Constitution.
The APC is therefore asking the court to award N25bn as damages against the NCC in its favour for allegedly inhibiting its financial capacity to prosecute its presidential campaign towards the February 14 election.
Meanwhile, the party, on Wednesday secured an interim injunction overruling the ban on its fund-raising scheme pending the determination of the substantive suit.
The ex-parte application brought by its counsel, Dr. Muiz Banire, was granted by Justice Ibrahim Buba.
Justice Buba ordered on Wednesday that the 2nd to 6th defendants should immediately reactivate the applicant’s presidential campaign fund-raising SMS scheme.
The judge also granted the applicant the leave to serve the respondents the originating summons and other processes outside the court’s jurisdiction.
Justice Buba adjourned till February 4, 2014 to hear the substantive suit.

2015 Elections coverage: Nigerian foreign missions deny visas to Western agencies

ngNigeria's diplomatic missions are not favourably disposed towards issuing entry visas to foreign journalists who intend to cover the 2015 Nigerian elections.
Mega Mode Media exclusively got this information from a highly placed journalist working with BBC. She said all attempts to fulfill all requirements were met but, the journalists were denied entry visas.

The source was wary of this development which does not bode well for the polls. "That was the exact scenario preceding elections in Zimbabwe, Kenya and Ivory Coast a few years ago. We all saw the aftermath," she said, adding, "If there is no sinister motive, why attempt to prevent the foreign press corps from reporting an election."

Apart from her, a few other journalists from outlets like SkyNews and The Guardian have got their visa requests denied despite satisfying all the requirements.

NCC carpets IT coy over Buhari's fundraising

The Nigerian Communications Commission on Tuesday threatened to sanction one of its licensed Value Added Service Operators, TextNigeria Limited, for diverting a short code allotted to it for political campaign without obtaining permission from the regulatory agency.
TextNigeria Limited had been involved in handling the fundraising for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign through the use of Short Message Service platform on GSM networks utilising a short code allocated by NCC.
However, at a press conference addressed by three officials of NCC in Abuja on Tuesday, NCC said the VAS operator obtained the short code for Big Brother Nigeria/Africa in April 2013 and should have written to the agency if it wanted to use the code for anything other than the purpose for which it was obtained.
The regulatory agency said it was not wrong for any party to use the SMS platform to raise fund for political campaign but added that due process must be followed as the regulatory agency had insisted at all times.
Head of Enforcement of the NCC, Mr. Idehen Efosa, said NCC would follow the enforcement rules and sanction the TextNigeria Limited for diverting the short code allocated to it without prior notice to the agency.
A letter from Director, Technical Standards & Network Integrity at NCC, Dr. B.M. Sani, dated April 16, 2013, urged the Managing Director of TextNigeria Limited to ensure that the four short codes approved for it were used in accordance with the provisions of the Nigerian Communications Act, 2003 and the Guidelines on Short Code Operation in Nigeria.
The letter, titled Allocation of Short Codes, read in part, “The commission, having favourably considered your application, is pleased to inform you that short codes 20353, 38350, 35350 and 34350 have been allocated to your company for Samsung eWarranty, Sproxil Authentication, Big Brother Nigeria/Africa and Shared Code Services respectively.
“Please be informed that short code as well as all numbering resources is finite, hence, are considered a national scarce resource. As such, the commission expects that the short code will be put into active use and in a manner that will not cause service disruption to the national telephony network.”
Director of Public Affairs at NCC, Mr. Tony Ojobo, stated that a similar service had been approved for both President Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, prior to the general elections of 2011 after their clients had obtained the necessary approval.

Despite a tireless social media activity on the lead-up to the release of her album, Rebel Heart, it seems that Madonna may have been hiding one of her best surprises concerning the project.
Former boxing champ Mike Tyson, 48, has revealed that his distinctive voice is set to be featured on one of her tracks, called Iconic, after the pop superstar, 56, invited him into the studio.
'Madonna calls you and tells you to come somewhere, you go,' Mike, who famously bit the ear of opponent Evander Holyfield during a 1997 bout, told Rolling Stone in a new interview.

'I didn't know what the hell I was going there for,' he added. 'I'm just there having a good time and hanging out with Madonna. She has her producer there and I go into the studio and I didn't know if she wanted me to talk or rap.
'I just go in there and start talking. I'm talking about my life and things that I have endured. I'm saying some really crazy stuff. It was really intense.'
During the interview, Mike, who appears on the track with Chance The Rapper, proceeded to reveal that he drew inspiration from Italian fascist Benito Mussolini.

He explained of making the track: 'When I did it, I think about being some guy like [Benito] Mussolini and they're really arrogant, but you try to come from a positive perspective and be uplifting.
'You watch Mussolini on television — even though we don't understand what he's saying — he is so mesmerizing. I look at myself in that way.
'I know people may say "this guy's a fascist" and all this stuff, but man, you can take positivity from watching him. No wonder why Hitler was attracted to him. This guy's a hypnotic figure.'

Meanwhile, Madonna has been staying active on social media ahead of her album's March 9 release, and recently took to Instagram to share a pair of selfies where her cleavage took centre stage.
Captioned 'I'm not gonna stop' and 'I deserve the best', the filtered images showed the mother-of-four glaring into the lens in come-hither poses as she wore a striped tank top.
Within four hours of being unveiled, the pictures attracted a total of 45,000 likes and a seemingly endless stream of comments both praising and criticising the star.

The photographs mark something of a change of pace for the star, who was accused by many of social media of using the recent terrorist attack in Paris to promote her upcoming album.
She posted a series of photos to her Instagram to offer support after 12 people were killed in the gun attack on French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo's Paris offices.
But as Madonna offered encouraging words in the captions for her social media images, she also provided some hashtags which were in promotion of her new album.
The controversy comes on the heels of the pop icon likening the recent leak of her album to a 'form of terrorism' - her comments coming just after the world was left in shock following the Sydney Siege.

Madonna posted a viral image 'Je suis Charlie' (I am Charlie) with the caption: 'These are very scary times we are living in. Ignorance breeds Intolerance and fear. We can only fight darkness with light! We are all Charlie! #revolutionoflove [heart] #rebelhearts.'
The star also hit headlines for posting Instagram photos of Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela that were altered to look like her own image on her new album.
The images sparked furore online as many believed she was comparing herself to these revolutionaries and civil rights leaders.
In a statement on her official Facebook page, Madonna said: 'I'm sorry. I'm not comparing my self to anyone. I'm admiring and acknowledging there Rebel Hearts (sic)'.
