First female governor in Nigeria emerges

A Governorship election tribunal sitting in Taraba state has sacked the PDP’s Darius Ishaka as governor of the state and declared APC’s Aisha Alhassan the winner of the April
11 gubernatorial polls.
The state government is yet to respond. However, judging by precedent in such cases in Nigeria, it is highly likely that the case would head to the Court of Appeals.
