How Parents Should Check Their Very Quiet Children/Wards (Parenting)

Parents and guardians, be extra vigilant with your children and wards, most particularly with the seemingly introverted and very quiet ones. Something might just be going on there being what is normal. At a particular taxi garage in Ifo, Ogun state, Mega Mode Media was in a commercial taxi enroute another destination. Soon, a SUV pulled up. A young guy, no more than 19 or 20, climbed out of the car, carrying the now ubiquitous back back and a fanny cross body bag. Despite the fact that the dad beside the wheel pulled up right next to the passenger door of the commercial taxi, he waited till the boy put his bag in the boot and sat in the taxi.  Not satisfied, the obviously diting dad called out, "son, are you okay? Is everything fine?" To which the boy nodded, and waved at him before darling dad then drive off. Less than two minutes in to his arrival, the handsome, light skinned, harmless-looking boy glanced to the side and saw one of the park attendants smoking. Instantly, h...

Passers by heard his loud protestations and chased the boys. One of them was apprehended and taken back to the uncompleted buil...

Friends-turned-Foe, Ladoke Akintola's Encomium on Chief Obafemi Awolowo at His 50th Birthday. (Blast From The Past)

The *Immortal* eucomiun delivered by Chief Ladoke Akintola on the occasion of Chief Awolowo’s 50th birthday anniversary in March 1959 By Ladoke Akintola To Chief Awolowo, passivity is a bane and inaction an anathema. How could it be otherwise to a life which thrives on industry and to a man with fanatical faith in hard work? That was why he made himself a terror to the demagogues and Mountebanks who, with neither a chart nor a rudder, believed that they could steer the Nigerian ship of state to its destination. No pilot has a clearer vision and none a keener sense of mission than Chief Awolowo… In the political changes which took place in Nigeria from 1947 onwards, Dr. Azikiwe has been spasmodic and casual; Sir Ahmadu Bello has been leisurely and care-free; but Awolowo has been constant and calculating…To know Chief Awolowo as a man is to respect him. It has been my pride and pleasure to know him. He is by every standard a genius. His unimpeachable character, his faith in God, his conf...

Security Guard Poisons Boss (Crime)

Image
Umar's hand where copious IV fluid was passed to his system  A man, Muktar Umar, recently got a raw deal Fr m his domestic staff. The staff who should normally have the best interest of his employer at heart proved to be a very crafty and dangerous man.  If not for providence, the boss would not have survived to tell the story. The employee, given a means of livelihood as security guard in his home, found a way to lace his food with poison. Did Umar, the boss, did anything untoward towards him to make him decide to snuff life out him? No. Umar's security guard poisoned him in order to rob him of his possession in his home!  It was so bad that Umar had to stay under medical supervision overnight, "fighting for his life". The following morning, Umar said the security guard called at 09.52 am to check up on his boss's health. "We exchanged greetings, and he even wished me a quick recovery," Umar said. But just five minutes later, Umar discovered that the ...

Coalition: Why APC Held a National Summit Today (Politics)

Image
The coalition talks among the opposition looks like it's gaining traction in the last few days.  Realizing the battle to stop President Bola Tinubu from getting a second term is an Hercules task that seems nigh impossible, the opposition is starting early.. But, in the face of the concrete confidence the ruling party got recently following a tsunami of defections from within the same opposition, the All Progressives' Congress (APC) is not loosening it's lead. Today's, it held a national summit comprising all ministers, members of national assembly, governors, past excis, past governors in a power move to show its swelling tanks.  This is in stark contrast to a pitifully shrunk opposition that boasted of a few notable individuals.  The ruling party gained an advantage when signals in the Nigerian political space reveals that securing political office in Nigeria now, is by belonging to the ruling party. Current office holders are also not unmindful  of the politi...

BREAKING: Chic Lagos Restaurant Kidnapping & Selling Hum@n Parts (Lagos)

Image
Nigerians, please be very very hyper vigilant nowadays. Cold blooded elements are not above doing anything to their fellow humans just to gain riches by any means  Three years ago, Bamise's k1lling inside a state-funded bus is an  indication that nobody should loose guard irrespective of plying a government bus. Before, taking that form of transposition was the safest. Not any more. Guard your movements and vehicle you board, whether private, public or government-established.  Timothy Adegoke's equally gruesome k1lling occurred right on his bed in a hotel bed in his hotel room that he paid for to accommodate him whilst attending OAU Ife, a university, for his Master's. He was h1t with a club in his sleep after his attackers entered his room with the spare key in the middle of the night.         The small alleyway separating             restaurant and petrol station Now, guys, be extra hyper vigilant where you mak...

Wonders shall never cease.  Criminality in Nigeria is taking so many guises as gross crimes are now being brazenly done and hidden in plain sight. Places that should ideally guard the sanctity of the littlest and innocent in the society is not spared.  O r how else could one explain the reasoning behind the conceptualization and construction of a brothel right inside  juele Primary School, in Esan local government area of Edo State?  Obviously, to avoided detection and arrest, the proprietor didn't blink twice about corrupting or kick-starting the corruption of innocent lifes.  Edo State authorities led by it's governor, Monday Ikpebholor, has sealed up the building . "S ome of these properties will be converted,," a state official who wishes not to be named, said.  Apart from conversion of the building for an edifying use, Mega Mode Media implores the Edo state authorities to also fish out the proprietor and his accomplices for possible trial and imp...
