How Parents Should Check Their Very Quiet Children/Wards (Parenting)

Parents and guardians, be extra vigilant with your children and wards, most particularly with the seemingly introverted and very quiet ones. Something might just be going on there being what is normal.

At a particular taxi garage in Ifo, Ogun state, Mega Mode Media was in a commercial taxi enroute another destination. Soon, a SUV pulled up. A young guy, no more than 19 or 20, climbed out of the car, carrying the now ubiquitous back back and a fanny cross body bag. Despite the fact that the dad beside the wheel pulled up right next to the passenger door of the commercial taxi, he waited till the boy put his bag in the boot and sat in the taxi.

Not satisfied, the obviously diting dad called out, "son, are you okay? Is everything fine?" To which the boy nodded, and waved at him before darling dad then drive off.

Less than two minutes in to his arrival, the handsome, light skinned, harmless-looking boy glanced to the side and saw one of the park attendants smoking. Instantly, he perked up. He jumped out of the taxi in the blink of an eye, wildly gesticulating to the smoking guy who ignored him at first, then pointed at a nearby kiosk where he could purchase one since he's so interested.

Dude lighted his purchased cigarette in his mouth and puffed, blowing out smoke like a pro. This is very normal isn't it?

Now, what Mega Mode Media found out not to be normal is the incredibly street smartness of a young adult who one would have thought hails from a wealthy home where he is  well shielded from such actions.

This is because in no time, a street urchin dubbed "area boy" approached the now seated guy, curiously whispering to him and he was readily really receptive to whatever area boy was telling him, with eager nods and "yeah, yeah" intersecting at various points.

Area boy left. Only to return after about 10 minutes, whispering what is available to what is not. Upon expressing his preference, and getting the cost, he brought out wads of currency notes which he passed to area boy.

Later, area boy returned with a package, which turned out to be a cigarette pack. The cool buyer thanked him profusely, even bring out a clenched fist to gist bump area boy to the delight of area boy who swooned, and exclaimed his delightful admiration for his street savvy cool dude, obviously a student in a higher institution of learning, showcased.

About three minutes in, cool dude brought out the cigarette pack and cooly counted small, neatly wrapped cubes of a powdery substance, strongly suspected to be illicit substances. Satisfied, he put the pack back in his fanny pack, smirked at no one in particular, and relaxed back in his seat, contented.

If he was already doing these less than 20 minutes after his diting dad dropped him off at the taxi park and still in that same vicinity, it could be imagined the depths he would sink to while away at school with zero supervision.

The kink is that, that father would swear to anywho care to listen that his boy is the most reserved, humble and well behaved boy in the universe with no guile whatsoever. They do not believe any contrary reports per their  children unless, faced with hard, incontrovertible evidence.

Parents)guardians, send them on errands and then sift through that your seemingly innocent child/ward when he least expects. His clothes' pockets, and inside pages of paper textbooks, notes and computers.

No age is too soon to start, check that of primary kids from class one too. Criminal elements now catch them young, by now initiating kids from primary one or two into deadly secret cuults. Druug peddlers also recruit kids as young as eight to sell hard drugs in primary schools, yes, primary schools!

Another cause of extreme introversion in kids is child @buse. M0lesfed kids are always always withdraw as coping mechanism of their trauma.

Same method of combing through all their stuff applies too. If you're attentive, you will find a clue to the cause.

Better now than later when he/she might not be malleable to reorientation.

These are indeed perilous times. Be extra with your vigilance, especially to the very introverted children and wards.
