Drama as House of Representatives Debates Supplementary Budget (Politics)

The House of Representatives just ended s rowdy session following a plenary session to discuss an Act to the Supplementary Budget Act this afternoon. Doing so translates to allowing the Executive get another funding

Kingsley Chinda, Minority Leader, spoke the minds of the largely booing majority parties, when he queried the basis for the Executive to request such action.

Countering this Hon..Sauda Soli, said while he agrees the minority leader might feel obligated to oppose the bill, but he said Chinda ought to consider the fact that the increasing cost of governance worsened by security risks needs injection of fresh funding therefore, necessitating a need for the supplementary budget act

. "No need to play politics with this, or play to the gallery," Soli said, to louder jeers from the floor of the House.

Hon. Alhassan Doguwa said whilst agreeing with Chinda on his stand, he said it is needful and legal. Eventually, as a Rep earlier suggested, implying the Speaker has the final say in the matter and could overuke  Doguwa called for a closed,-,door Executive Session to deliberate on the bill and recert.

Speaker Tajudeen Abbsh agreed and requested thethe House  Leader to move for this to be done.

But, a clearly reluctant Julius Ihonvbete, Leader of the House, voiced his objection because "the bill is a straight forward bill and Mr. Speaker you have the gavel", subtly urging him to do so. But, he eventually moved for the house to go into an executive sessione and with it seconded NY the minority leader, the House is at this minute in sn Executive Session on the matter
