Christ Embassy Fire: Possible Cause As Nweke Jnr., Nigerians, Charge Religious Institutions (Nigeria Metro)

Christ Embassy headquarters on fire

Chima Onaga, an electrical engineer, suggests that the fire outbreak at the headquarters of Loveworld Incorporated popularly called Christ Embassy, today, is strongly likely to have occurred as an electrical shortcircuit malfunction. "Some appliances might not be shut properly or in preparation for Sunday service, two posing forces of generating plants and electricity collided mistakenly, igniting a fire," he said.

Furthermore, he said the flames and dark, heavy billowing smoke it promptly created indicates it's an electrical fault. Adequate fireprotective devices must have been emolsced in a giant, modern edifice like that, so Onaga believes human error is the highly probable cause.

It is not a residential proptsi fires from cooking gas explosion is rules out. "Fires from electrical faults is the sort that spread instantaneously like that, and if not for the swift intervention of tire services, it would have razed down the structure in no time, " he added.

Many top Nigerians have also commended the swift intervention of the Lagos fire services for their rapid response. One of these is Frank Nweke, former minister of information and youth, who commended the agency.

Nweke Jnr.

Nweke sympathises with the church but he "urges that this unfortunate situation presents an opportunity to review existing safety and emergency protocols or emplacement of these protocols where not already established," adding, Safety consciousness and emergency response action and behaviour, including reguydrikks, must now become standard components if all church activities. "

Indeed. It would have been a major catastrophe had a church programme bern in full swing when the fire commenced. Even though God protects, such proactive and readiness measures are needed in all religious establishments.

Following the incident, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, LSFRS, said it has used excavator from Lagos State Emergency Agency , LASEMA, to pull parts of the building down in order to ascertain damage.

Margaret Adeseye, director with LSFRS, made this revelation on X.com after firefighters from the agency put out the flames from the building.

"In addition, LASEMA's excavator is being used to pull down some parts of the building to ensure complete extinguishment and to prevent further structural collapse," Adeseye said

She reveals that the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but investigations are underway to ascertain its origin.

Also, she said, "No casualties have been reported at this time. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available."
