Due to the crushing higher cost of fuel leading to higher transportation fare to commute daily, the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has displayed that his government is a listening and caring one.  A moment ago, Makinde gladdened the hearts of the state's civil servants by signing approval to payment of N10,000 extra to their pay packages to cushion the harsh effects of the price increment.  Will other states follow suit and emulate Makinde?

As we all know, the world heavyweight champion , Anthony Joshua, lost his two childhood friends Laez and Cina in a fatal car crash four months ago in Nigeria. It was a moment of profound tragic loss that the world palpably stopped and sorrowed alongside Joshua. Emotions were heightened upon Joshua's quick return back to UK, he left back for UK without completing his trip.  There, he personally took his friends' luggage to their parents minus their sons. It lost the trophy to Senegal in a volatile match that saw the Senegalese walking off the pitch at a point I've poor officiating. They returned to finish it after some time.  Afterwards, the Moroccan football authorities lodged an official complaint with CAF , the continental football body. Last week, CAF stripped Senegal of the gold medal and trophy, declaring that Morocco is deemed to have won the match because Senegal walked off. President Trump's ultimatum to Iran posted on his social messaging app, Truth Social   The Iran war is entering its fourth week. What looks like a quick US-Israeli coalition that will soon be over is not turning out to be so.  It has escalated from that strikes which K1lled Ayatollah Ali Khameini and the topmost officials of 5 Iranian administration holfong a meeting, to Iran's retaliatory strikes on not just Israel , but UAE and Jordan which are US's allies .  Most contentiously, it has led to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz by Iran. This sea passage is where 30 percent of international oil vessels pass through. As a result the price of crude oil in the global oil markets has gone up.  This has caused a furious President Trump to issue a 48 hour ultimatum to Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face strikes upon its key infrastructure.
