Celestial Church' of Christ's Leadership Disowns Shepherd (Crime)
. Afolabi Hodonu (Courtesy, CCC)Men of God are supposed to be revered and given the utmost honour. Their job is a noble one that entails lots of sacrifices, toil and inconvenience in order to save souls for the kingdom of God as well as oversee their spiritual nourishment on earth.
But, what happy when one discovers that some men of God are actually otherwise,?
That is the situation with one Afolabi Hodonu, arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) with his wife for possessing 11kg of skunk in Lagos....
NDLEA operatives arrested Hodonu and his wife, Success, at the Gbaji checkpoint in Lagos, where 11Kg of skunk were allegedly recovered from carefully concealed areas in their vehicle. Undoubtedly, the name of the wife did not live up to it's meaning that day.
Hodonu is said to to be the Shepherd in charge of the Celestial Church of Christ, Agonvi Sea Beach, in the Sakpo area of Seme border, Badagry.
A statement on Sunday by the agency’s spokesman, Femi Babafemi, said the arrest of the pastor and his wife happened after an arrest of a fake security guard, Sunday Samuel, 35, at the same checkpoint while transporting 24.5Kg of skunk from Seme border to Lagos.
The secure guard wasted no time before singing like a canar. His confessions led to the arrest of the cleric and his wife.
Promptly, the leadership of Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) disowned Hodonu. The church said he is not a m8of the church.
I'm his reaction, the Head of Media and Publicity of the church, Kayode Ajala, said the church's administrative records reveal that the cleric and his wife are not affiliated with the Ketu mainstream of the Celestial Church of Christ under the leadership of Reverend Emmanuel Oshoffa.
Our administrative records confirm that the said Shepherd, Afolabi Hodonu and his wife, Success Hodonu, do not belong to the Ketu mainstream of Celestial Church of Christ under the leadership of His Eminence, Reverend Emmanuel Mobiyina Oshoffa,” Ajala said.
He expressed concern that CCC's name had been dragged into such a “despicable act.”
Still, Ajala said that a task force would be deployed to the Seme area of Badagry, Lagos State, on "a fact finding mission'" to ascertain the facts surrounding the incident.
Why is CCC embarking on such a mission when it already denounced him and his wife publicly as non members of the church?
