ngNigeria's diplomatic missions are not favourably disposed towards issuing entry visas to foreign journalists who intend to cover the 2015 Nigerian elections.
Mega Mode Media exclusively got this information from a highly placed journalist working with BBC. She said all attempts to fulfill all requirements were met but, the journalists were denied entry visas.
The source was wary of this development which does not bode well for the polls. "That was the exact scenario preceding elections in Zimbabwe, Kenya and Ivory Coast a few years ago. We all saw the aftermath," she said, adding, "If there is no sinister motive, why attempt to prevent the foreign press corps from reporting an election."
Apart from her, a few other journalists from outlets like SkyNews and The Guardian have got their visa requests denied despite satisfying all the requirements.
