Buhari’s 100 days record unrivalled, says APC leader

Chief Ayo Akande
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Chief Ayo Akande, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s achievements in his first 100 days in office are unprecedented in the history of the country.
The APC leader said that contrary to criticisms over the delay in the appointment of ministers, the President had built a solid foundation for his development plans.
Akande, who said this in a statement on Wednesday, noted that the President’s anti-corruption crusade has kept people on their toes and instilled a culture of probity in governance.
He said, “President Buhari’s achievements in his three-pronged programme of fighting corruption, tackling insecurity and unemployment are unprecedented in the history of Nigeria. Buhari has really performed credibly. No Nigerian President has ever done that in three months without ministers.
“Buhari has started on a good footing which has been yielding positive results. The singular action of getting the Chief of Army Staff, Maj. Gen. Turkur Buratai, to lead the battle against Boko-Haram insurgency is commendable. Buhari’s way of fighting corruption in the country has put every Nigerian on their toes.”
Akande, while defending President Buhari’s refusal to appoint ministers in his first 100 days, said the President was trying to be careful and strategic in his approach to issues based on the structures that would be put in place.
He urged Nigerians to be patient with the President as he unfolds his development plans.
