NIGERIA: Aggrieved Soldiers Shoot At GOC In Borno

Fresh reports said some soldiers reportedly fired gunshots at the motorcade of the General Office Commanding, Major General Ahmadu Mohammed, for his alleged oversight in allowing 12 soldiers slained by Boko Haram , Wednesday, to suffer that fate.

The soldiers went to a village where nativess ambushed and killed several Boko Haram terrorists. According to Premium Times, they finished their mission at night. The soldiers, wary of returning to their newly-formed base, 7th Division, at that time for fear of ambush from the insurgents, called and pleaded with their superiors from the village for permission to return in the daytime. But, this request was turned down. They were ordered to return that night and what they feared eventually happened as the soldiers lost their lives as they dreaded.

Furious, the soldiers shot sporadically into the air to register their grief and anger as the GOC arrived but, he was unhurt.
