Good to see you presidents! Barack Obama, Bill Clinton play golf

As Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton chatted on the first green of a Martha’s Vineyard golf course Saturday, it was not two-time major winner Jordan Spieth that held their attention, but Vernon Jordan, the longtime ally of both, who was about to putt. When Jordan made his putt, Obama fished the ball out of the hole and threw it back to him before making a putt of his own. Clinton then stepped up, took three practice swings, and sank his putt. . Spieth, who is currently high on the leaderboard at the USPGA championships, would presumably have been proud. The presidents golfed with Jordan, the financier and lawyer, and Ambassador Ron Kirk at the Farm Neck Golf Club, according to pool reports, playing a leisurely foursome ahead of Saturday night’s festivities, which will see the Obamas and the Clintons cross paths at Jordan’s 80th birthday celebrations. Jordan serves as a sort of go-between between the president and the Clintons. After building a career on Wall Street, he served as a top aide to Bill Clinton, before endorsing Hillary Clinton in 2008. After her defeat in the primaries he gave his support to Obama. The two presidents ran into each other at the golf club Friday, talking briefly, shaking hands and posing for pictures. Hillary Clinton campaigned in Iowa Friday and Saturday, and plans to make it to Martha’s Vineyard in time to celebrate. The first family is on vacation on the island. Politico
