Back-up plan? United have been linked with Neymar after missing out on Pedro
Manchester United have made a colossal £140million bid for Neymar, according to reports in Brazil.
The Barcelona forward has been linked with the Red Devils in the last 48 hours, since his agent, Wagner Ribeiro was pictured at Old Trafford during Saturday's draw with Newcastle.
Luis Enrique remained tight-lipped over the speculation in the wake of Barcelona's win over Athletic club on Sunday, but GloboEsporte now claim that United have made an official approach to the club.
They report that United have bid €190million, matching the player's buyout clause at the Camp Nou.
Louis van Gaal is believed to be in the market for a forward, with Wayne Rooney misfiring and relatively few other options in the final third.

The one that got away: Pedro ended up at Chelsea
United chief Ed Woodward travelled to Barcelona last week to pursue a deal for Spain winger Pedro, only to be gazumped at the last by Chelsea.
There is no indication that Neymar is unhappy in Catalonia. Indeed, the forward has often spoken of his pleasure at the chance to play alongside Lionel Messi and other Barça stars.
