EXCLUSIVE: Reason Why Ganduje, APC 's National Chairman, Resigned Now (Politics)
From left to right: President Tinubu, Ganduje
This comes as a jolt to many political watchers and All Progressives' Congress's (APC) pwarty faithfuls this evening, June 27. Virtually no one saw the sudden resignation of Dr. Umar Ganduje as National Chairman of APC coming at all.
Mega Mode Media exclusively learnt that Ganduje 's abrupt resignation is not unconnected with the reported looming defections of Musa Rabiu Kwakwanso from New Nigeria Democratic Party (NNDP) to the ruling APC.
Kwankwanso and Ganduje are both former governors who have been embroiled in political supremacy in Kano The latter,in fact, succeeded the former. Kano is key to victory in Nigeria's presidential elections because it is very populous. Amidst growing friction between President Tinubu and the northern bloc, the president has been seeking alternate strategies to capture Kano in the impending 2027 elections.
Ganduje became National Chairman of the ruling party but Kwankwanko's Kwakwasiya political movement is fierce than ever. The party he founded won the gubernatorial election in the state in 2023.
With Kwakwanso's impending movement to APC, Ganduje 's influence within the party and especially in Kano, has become weakened. It is highlyikely the next substantive chairman of the party would come from Kwakwanso's camp at the scheduled APC national convention slated for December.
Developing story. More to follow.
