Interesting Reasons Why Fubara & Bakare Visited Tinubu (Politics)
President Tinubu (right) with Pastor Bakare
His abode has long been a mecca of sorts. Since he left office as governor of Lagos 18 years ago, Bourdillon has nearly become a reference for him and his immense political influence. This is because people seeking political patronage or one favour or the other, are known to throng this venue which he stays on the stretch of Lahos' road in highbrow Ikoyi called Bourdillon.
Street beggars anf road urchins are not left out. They literally make the entrance way into the place their abode anytime he is in town for cash gifts and sometimes, free daily meals .
Who? Your guess is as good as mine. It is about President Tinubu and his Bourdillon enclave turning to a hotbed of visits from the most influential, to the downtrodden.
But two fresh visits stir curiosity. Similayi Fubaru, embattled and suspended governor of Rivers State visited him yesterday. Details of the meeting were not revealed. But it goes beging Sallah felicitations because Rivers is still under a state of emergency and has been soliciting getting a quick intervention of the president to overturn the emergency rule. It is not impossible that Fubara would eventually join the ruling All Progressives' Congress (APC) from main opposition party Peoles Democratic Party (PDP) in order to curry the favour of not just the ruling party but the power structure in the country itself in order to soften Nyesom Wike's rigid posture oo developments ingoverning Rivers State. Wike, the minister for FCT, is a hardcore Tinubu loyalist and powerful politician. He's been having a running battle with Fubara in the state for over two years.
As we are still digesting this development, another prominent Nigerian visited President Tinubu. Pastor Tunde Bakare, a human rights activist and politician who also contested the APC primary with Tinubu, paid him a visit. Coming on the heels of a scathing criticism in Bakare's periodic State of the Nation address delivered & televised nationally barely two months ago, his visit to Tinubu came as a surprise.
Both parties have shared a very intriguing relationship, Wike they are not buddies, they certainly are not foes.
Now, is it possible to run with the hounds and race with the foxes at same time? Mega Mode Media exclusively learnt that the visit arise following concerns raised by a few top traditional rulers in the south west who were unhappy that Bajare delivered the scathing TV address. They see that incident as unacceptable between individuals of the same Yoruba tribe:his criticism is regarded as a betrayal. To foster unity and help shire up goodwill for Tinubu's reign, they enjoined Bakare to visit Tinubu, which Bakare graciously accepted.
