Seven Reasons Why PDP Gov. Ademola Adeleke Will Soon Join APC (Politics)
It is becoming clearer that Senator Ademola Adeleke, the giver of Osun, will jettison the main opposition party, People's Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives' Congress (APC) Asoin..Mega Mode Media has observed this phenomenon for over a year..
These investigation is based on these points below.
L-R: Dr Adedeji, Davido's father; President Bola Tinubu; David Adeleke a k a. Davido and Governor Ademola Adeleke during a recent visit to President Tinubu, in Lagos Courtesy; Vanguard1. Governor Ademola Adeleke met with his erstwhile arch enemy Gbogega Oyetola at a recent function for the very first time especially since Adeleke emerged as Osun's governor. Oyetola might have noticed President Tinubu's thawing mien towards Adeleke and besides, his own tenuous hold on the APC structure in Osun might make it expedient for him to form a strategic alliance with Adeleke to gain relevance than an Osun APC that is lukewarm to his return to reckoning in Osun.
2. The Adelekes, APC and Tinubu became sworn enemies following the sudden demise of Isiaka Adeleke, ex governor, and a serving senator who was the topmost aspirant in the gubernatorial election of the state when he tragically passed.
The family was able to regain Isiaka 's seat for Ademola in the subsequent bye election. But, it was tough.
Ademola s refusal to join the ruling APC from his opposition PDP is partly why the forces against his successful election waxed stronger in 2018. He was eventually removed at the Supreme Court over anomalies in names used in his certificates. Oyetola replaced him.
Consequently, the Adeleke clan became strongly embittered for that painful double loss it got with APC, first, Isiaka 's passing rumoured to have imprints of powerful forces within Osun APC in it, and Ademola 's victory turned excruciating crushing defeat at the Supreme Court.
The family then swore by all it held dear NEVER to have anything to do with APC and Tinubu ever again.
3. So, with this background, why is Davido hobnobbing with Tinubu? Son of billionaire Dr. Adedeji Adeleke and elder brother of Ademola, Davido is a staunch supporter of his very beloved uncle, Ademola. He grew up in his house in US and share a very deep bond with him. Observers of the two all agree that they have the same exuberant and extroverted personality. On all times that Ademola campaigned, Davido suspends all his musical bookings, to perform at his rallies, thereby, using his star power in pulling crowds to the venues.
All the times he lost, Davido was very vocal in his loud criticisms and denunciation of the system and APC.
So, why did Davido travel to Abuja to meet President Tinubu in Aso Villa? A Tinubu who is not just his but his family's adjudged foe?
4. Davido not only met President Tinubu once, but twice in a week. What's cooking? When Baba presudo is not a DJ or show promoter!
5. On the second visit, Davido, Ademola and surprise, surprise, his dad, visited President Tinubu in Lagos. His father's inclusion on this visit is a startling surprise. Dr. Adedeji Adeleke hates politicking and the spotlight. He is much more at home running his billion naira business global empire and tending to his family and vocations. Very introverted, he is a staunch academic, he has two Ph.Ds.
Dr. Adedeji is the strongest financial muscle for Ademola because he doesn't just donate to his campaign, he brings in his wealthy and influenced friends to rally round his brother as well.
He is the one who behind the scenes, call the shots in the Adeleke clan. He pronounced the total abhorrence for APC and all pertaining to it after all the history intertwining both sides.
To see him accompanying Davido and Ademola on the visit knowing fully well photographers cameras are rolling to capture the event for the world to see signals a shift in the hitherto tensely frigid relations between Adeleke's family as a whole, towards Tinubu and APC. For him to be there, Ademola is well on his way to APC, for sure
6. Before now, Ademola made efforts to see the president during the inauguration ceremony of the Ghanaian president. But, it wasn't successful.
7. Ademola then embarked on a charm offensive to win over powerful figures around Tinubu. Powerful businessmenije Akiko Dangote and Tiny Elumelu, plus a very powerful minister, were courted and sent to make a case for Adeleke before the president.
This is very needful. Adeleke's party, PDP, has been embroiled in intractable crisis for years now particularly after the inception of the Tinubu administration. It is no longer a viable platform.
Besides, after noticing the manner that the ruling APC swept PDP aside in having its way in PDP-controlled strongholds like Rivers, it is glaring that Ademola stands no chance in a state that is the President's origin. He has to dump PDP and join APC.
But, his joining APC is not the problem. But, be hosting successful terms of joining especially, getting the party's gubernatorial ticket in next year's Osun primarues, is the problem.
However, Osuu APC is screaming loudly that Adeleke can only be an ordinary member if he joins the party with no chance of winning the primary. Even after Adeleke's last visit to Tinubu in Lagos, it is stating it's non readiness to entertain Adeleke's wishes. And that's why the Adelekes are busily lobbying the president.
The president too, being the sagacious person he is, knows that there still remains deep-seated animosity within the Adelekes. But, it's self-seeking political expediency that is driving their sudden warm love is currently welcoming.
But still, President Tinubu remains non committal.
