Buhari removes Akpobolokemi as NIMASA's DG
President Muhammadu Buhari has terminated the appointment of the Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Patrick Ziakede Akpobolokemi.
This was contained in a two-paragraph statement on Thursday by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina.
The presidential spokesman did not give any reason for the termination of Akpobolokemi's appointment which, he said, took immediate effect.
According to Adesina, Akpobolokemi is to hand over the management of NIMASA and all government property in his possession to the most senior officer in the agency who will remain in charge until a new director-general is appointed
