Not out of the woods yet. Lamar Odom’s condition has significantly improved since he was found unconscious a week ago in a Las Vegas brothel. But the former NBA star, 35, still has quite a ways to go before he has fully recovered.
Odom has been transferred to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles to continue his rehabilitation, but it will be a slow process, a source close to the situation tells Us Weekly.
“He’s still really, really sick,” the source tells Us. “There are a million things they’re doing to him still. He’s not doing well. He’s talking a little bit, but not full sentences.
By his side throughout this whole ordeal is Khloe Kardashian, Odom’s estranged wife. The reality star, 31, has been in charge of medical decisions as his primary caretaker.
On Tuesday, Oct. 20, she released her first statement since the incident, saying, “The past week has been incredibly difficult. I am so thankful to family, friends, and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar. I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work. Under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made… God is great!!!"
