Revealed: Cause of De@@th of Bunmi "Omije Ojumi" (Passage)

Bunmi Akinnaanu Adeoye popularly called Omije Ojumi, d11ied, January 12, to great shock and disbelief among her fans. 

What happened? She's young!!

Well, Akinnanu’s passing comes months after she appealed for prayers and divine healing while battling a severe leg ailment.

In a viral video at the time, the Omije Ojumi hitmaker was seen seated with her leg stretched out as a pastor prayed for her.

The late singer began her music journey at the age of 10,  in a church choir. She sang a section in an album produced by ECWA Challenge Mushin in 2004/5: "Omije Oju mi n beere aanu re baba!" (my bitter tears earnestly pleads for your mercy, Father!) struck emotional chords and resonated round many Yoruba-speaking churches and homes in Nigeria and worldwide. After her education and a stint in banking, she left her career to pursue gospel music full-time.

Many thought she had recovered. Until the jolting news from a family member, Olawale. The statement reads: “With great sadness, we announce the passing of Evangelist Olubunmi Akinnaanu Adeoye (Omije Ojumi). She passed away on January 12, 2026, at a hospital in Lagos, Nigeria. May God grant her eternal rest. Signed: Olawale Akinnaanu, for the family.”
