The good Samaritan who returned the money? Or the Spanish authorities?

Let's deep dive into this. Jibril is a Nigerian immigrant in Valencia, Spain. Few days ago, Jibril was strolling sling the streets of the city when his legs bumped against sonething..on closer inspection, it was an envelope. Closer scrutiny of the envelope reveals it contains €4,250, over one million naira,

What to do now? After a few minutes of introspection, Jibril decided to take the envelope containing the money to the police. With no hesitation, he did so and handed it over to Spanish  police officers.

The officers and other onlookers were surprised. Pleasantly so. In this harsh moments of global economic adversity, such honesty is rare.

Thereafter, the police officer in charge then asked Jibril for his documentation in order to file legal papers regard6his find. It was at this point that Jibril was discovered not to have any legal papers because is an illegal immigrant.

On discovering  that Jibril did not have a residence card (ID) to prove that he was legally living in Spain, Jibril was then immediately detained.

Last week, Jibril was subsequently deported back to Nigeria.

He was also banned for years not ti ever step a foot into Spain.

Who do you blame?
