David Oyelowo to star in 'Americanah' adaptation (Business Standard)

Nigerian-British actor David Oyelowo will star opposite Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o in the film adaptation of critically-acclaimed romance novel 'Americanah'. The movie will be produced by Brad Pitt.

The Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie-authored book is about two young Nigerian immigrants whose love endures despite hardships, reported Variety. 

Last week, Oyelowo, 38, landed a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor for his role as US civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr in historical drama film 'Selma'. 

 Before his exploits in Hollywood, he has been a popular face on British stage and cinema.

 Earlier, he starred with Oprah Winfrey and Forest Whitaker in The Butler.
