Adebule was chosen among other candidates because of her gender and high level of education including her Islamic religion to balance the religious equation in the equation. Ambode is a Christian..

The Imam of the House of Assembly would have been chosen but some Muslim groups in the state resisted the move, so Adebule was chosen doubly because of her good track record as well as cerebral pedigreel she has a  Ph.D in Islamic Studies and was a lecturer at the Lagos State University before her appointment as the SSG.
