Boko Haram: Yobe Relaxes Curfew (The Guardian)
GOVERNOR Ibrahim Gaidam Yobe state, has reviewed the 6pm-7am curfew imposed on Damaturu, the state capital, following Boko Haram attacks a fortnight ago that claimed several lives and property in the metropolis.
The governor during the attack imposed 24-hour curfew in Damaturu; but after its expiration, the curfew was reviewed to between 6:00pm and 7:00am daily, until the security situation improved.
Gaidam, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Press Affairs and Information, Abdullahi Bego, yesterday said that the curfew has further been reviewed to between 8:00pm and 6:00am daily.
It reads in part: “From today Monday 15th December 2014, the curfew will begin from 8.00pm to 7.00am daily. Until now, the curfew used to be between 6.00pm and 7.00am daily.”
