Have You Noticed Tinubu Doesn't Forgive? (Nigeria)

It is gradually becoming noticeable. From his actions at his home base of Lagos to the national level, a marked trait is emerging to the discernible .

It reared its head with Akinwunmi Ambode, former Lagos' governor. After one term, he was refused a second term ticket by the Governor's Advisory Council +GAC(. Observers say it is an euphemism for Bola Tinubu, now, the president.

Despite many pleas,Ambode could not make any headway.

When he granted an explosive press conference making damaging allegations against the party's candidate, his fate was sealed. Despite his recent and uncountable placating overtures moves to Tinubu since 2019, Ambode remains in the political wilderness in party affairs in the state.

Now, the man whom Ambode defamed and who replaced Ambode, incumbent Governor. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had a very robust and tightly knit relations with President Tinubu dating from his years of beginnings working with the first lady, Senator Oluremi Sobande Tinubu, while in office as the wife of the Lagos' governor. afterwards, her support and recommendation led to his various political offices.

But, when a certain Aisha Achimugu was arrested by the anti corruption agency in Nigeria, there were revelations that led straight to the door of Sanwo-Olu. He was accused of donating huge sums of money to opposition Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in order to prevent a successful election for Tinubu.

The conduit was Achimugu, said to be his romantic interest. She also reportedly cornered huge hundreds of millions of naira as "gifts" from Shell companies linked with the two.

Not only was Tinubu livid on hearing this news via Mubashiru Obasanjo, speaker of the state's house of assembly, he reportedly wanted to facilitate his ouster. Obasa spilled the secret to Tinubu as his motive for publicly shaming and ridiculing of Sanwo-Olu at public functions, which caused his removal as speaker. He was reinstated weeks later.

Sanwo-Olu was not removed because if his desperate pleas and high wire I intervention by prominent people around the president including the first lady and Sade Tinubu, Iyaloja general of Lagos state and Tinubu's first daughter.

But, it's an uneasy reprieve. President Tinubu publicly ignored his proffered hand in greeting on his visit to Lagos thereafter last year. Weeks ago, he refused to commission projects that the governor hoped he would flag off during his Sallah and Easter vacations in the state.

And now, after diligent investigations into this matter for over a year now, the EFCC is now investigating Sanwo-Olu directly as paper trails now lead to him. He enjoys immunity now as governor. But as the mi this now count down to his exit after a second term in office, he won't be for much longer. That's when he might stand trial over these allegations.

Latest is Wale Edun, the erstwhile federal minister of finance sacked by President, April 21. President could live live with his lesser than stellar contributions in the economic team, his reluctance to tackle payment of owed contractors and allocations for new contracts. . He just sidestepped them by removing critical oversight functions from him to the former junior minister. But, upon exhibiting a lack of capacity, the president redeployed her and brought in Taiwo Oyedele. But, on Edun's squeal of huge missing funds during a federal legislative hearing, President Tinubu moved swiftly. He sacked Edun with immediate effect, mandating him to hand over to Oyedele, now the substantive minister of finance.

S common thread weaving through all these? President Tinubu does not forgive disloyalty. He can often tolerate other offences but when someone stops being loyal, and is caught with proven proof of this, he moves u unflinchingly against the person to cut him to size immediately .

If not done quickly, he waits, bides his time, make calculated moves and make his move shortly after. He does not forgive treachery or disloyalty.

People in his circles, and working with him, had best learn this rigidness when it comes to this, it learn the hard way if they are found culpable. No amount of begging or lobbying would save such person.

But, Mega Mode Media believes this penchant for loyalty should also reflect in loyalty to Nigeria you. Anyone fly d bring disloyalty as noted in the Nigerian National Pledge should face rigid punishment as well.
