Source of Ondo strange ailment is identified (Channelstv)

The strange ailment that broke out in Ode-Irele, Ondo state has been curtailed. The ailment which was discovered to have been caused by methanol poison in locally made alcohol claimed 23 lives.
Briefing Journalists at the conference hall of the state Ministry of Health, the Commissioner, Dr. ‘Dayo Adeyanju, said that no new case of the ailment has been recorded in the last two weeks.
According to Adeyanju, ten victims are still alive and receiving treatment, two have regained their sights while four others are partially blind.
He added that government is continuing the sensitization of the people of Ode-Irele and it’s environs on avoiding the consumption of the poisoned alcohol.
Adeyanju further informed that the ministry officials are working with the National Agency for Foods, Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to ensure the local alcohol are of good quality.
