The Ogun State Government on Thursday declared today as public holiday in the state to mark the celebration of this year’s June Day.
According to a statement by its Secretary to State Government, Mr. Taiwo Adeoluwa, as part of activities marking the celebration of this year’s June 12 Day, the state government disclosed that there would be a commemorative football match between ex-Abiola Babes Internationals and All Stars team of the state.
He said: “The match which is scheduled to take place at M.K.O Abiola Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, will commence from 12 noon.
He added that “the football match is intended to further enliven the memory of the former African Pillar of Sports.
“All workers and the public are expected to grace the occasion in honour of the Late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola and the nation’s democracy,” he said.
