The 19-member committee, which was inaugurated in Abuja, on Friday, is to be chaired by the Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari. The committee is to oversee the party’s planned constitution amendment.
The committee is to also oversee other activities leading to the APC convention to select the party’s presidential candidate.
Speaking shortly after the committee’s inauguration, Yari said, “The mandate given to us as far as the committee is concerned is to ensure that the organisation is done to ratify the amendment of the sections of the party’s constitution so that we can have a successful convention.”
Former Bayelsa State Governor, Timpreye Sylva, is to serve as the committee’s secretary. Other members are the National Secretary of the APC, Mai Mala Buni, Senator Danjuma Goje, Senator Ajayi Borrofice, Hajiya Aisha Rufai Ibrahim, Alhaji Bala Borodo and Mr. Temi Harryman, among others.
