Police Yet to Establish Link of Abducted Lady to Diezani (Thisday)

he police in Port Harcourt have said they had not established a relationship between a lady kidnapped last Tuesday in Port Harcourt, Osio Agama, and the Minister of Petroleum, Deziani Alison-Madueke.

Agama, THISDAY gathered, was abducted by unknown gunmen on Tuesday around 8pm at the Leventis Bus Stop area of Aba Road, Port Harcourt.
There had been speculations that Agama was the younger sister of Deziani.

But the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ahmad Muhammad (DSP), told THISDAY in a telephone interview on Friday that he was not aware the abducted lady had any relationship with the petroleum minister.
According to Muhammad, “The police received a distress call on Tuesday between 8 and 9pm that a lady, Osio Agama, was abducted by unknown gunmen at Leventis Bus Stop area of Aba Road, Port Harcourt.

“The police immediately swung into action because it is our duty to safe guard every person, no matter the person’s identity.
"Although we   have not yet apprehended the kidnappers, we recovered her vehicle. Investigations are still on-going to ensure her safe release.”
He advised residents of Rivers State to be more vigilant as Christmas and elections were approaching, adding that the state police command had intensified patrols to check crime.
