Foreign powers are sponsoring APC - Fani-Kayode, Nigeria's ruling party's spokesperson

The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation (PDPPCO) has accused unnamed foreign nations of sponsoring the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) new video against PDP leaders.
Director, media and publicity of the organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode told newsmen on Monday in Abuja that the nine-minute video is to denigrade, bring into disrepute and shame Nigerians, the federal government and key government officials ahead of Saturday's presidential and National Assembly elections.
He said the video contains serious allegations on the corrupt nature of Nigerians, N48 billion allegedly spent on presidential air fleet, that the government had a hand in the kidnap of Chibok school girls and is hiding the girls, among other allegations describing them as baseless.
"A lot of foreign footage is contained in the video which suggest that there is an international dimension to the production. This confirms our fears and belief that the APC is being sponsored primarily by money from foreign countries and by agents of foreign governments that are hostile to the interest of our beloved nation Nigeria.
"They went as far as to suggest that when the presidential election is fought and won and President Goodluck Jonathan emerges as the winner, that the people should call for a full scale military intervention rather than allowing Jonathan to come back. They also specifically asked for the targeting and assassination of key members of this administration and a number of it's supporters in the event of a Jonathan victory in the coming elections," Fani-Kayode alleged.
The PDP campaign spokesman said President Jonathan is committed to democracy, adding that any attempt to bring about any form of "unconstitutional government" into the affairs of the nation by the opposition after they have lost the Saturday's election would not be successful.
