Nig's House of Reps Suspends Plenary in Honour of Akinremi (Passage)

 

  Vacant seats of some commiserating members

The Federal House of Representatives immediately adjourned sitting his morning following the demise of Hon. Olaide Adewale Akinremi, a member of the house of representatives, who represented Ibadan north federal constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who transited this morning, aged 51. 



The speaker said that according to the customs and traditions of the House when such unfortunate events occur, legislative activities would shift to tomorrow in honour of the deceased.
Akinremi was a ranking member and Chairman,  house committee on science and research.


Tajudeen Abbas, speaker of the house, expressed “profound sadness” over the passing of the lawmaker. "Rep. Akinremi Olaide Adewale was a beacon of dedication and service,” Abbas said, adding, "His contributions to our legislative work, especially in the area of science and research, were invaluable."
