The Motivating Love Story of Olu Jacobs & Joke Silva: Take Your Flowers

Two young Nigerians in England. In love with the arts. Met and fell in love in a foreign land. Talented, handsome guy, beautiful dark goddess, a match made in heaven itself.

Both are Oludotun Jacobs and Ajoke Sylva. Both married. Both have had extraordinary acting careers.

Out of deep respect for the enduring monument to arts and acting that Olu Jacobs is to Nigeria, we at Mega Mode Media will not publish pictures of Chief #OluJacobs as he battles Dementia with Lewy body.

We will remember him as we remember him: lively, smiling, happy and full of life. Whilst praying for a miracle he remembers...

Despite the harrowing experience, Big mama J, Joke Silva, his queen of inestimable value of over four decades, stands unflinchingly proud, resolute, loving and nurturing of her dear husband. "I still love my husband despite his condition," she recently said.

On his 80th birthday, big Momma J did not hide him away like a bad sore. She rolled out the drums, held a big iwambe party celebrating his life, standing tall and proud with their children flanking her and her husband.

In today when marriages packs up like Sandcastles at the slightest excuse, it is beyond motivating, inspiring and yes, emotional to see. She masked her pain behind those radiant smiles standing by him always, no doubt relishing all the minute she spends with him. Even though, "the husband I married, is no longer there," she laments.

Here are pictures of them to celebrate our icons while they are still here with us, and to gladden our hearts about the talented Pa Olu Jacobs and his better half, Big Momma Joke Silva. They always attend most events together, ,often in colour coordinated outfits with huge smiles.  See:

Right, on their wedding day

          The kisses then...

           The kisses now, regardless...

This last one got us emotional, she is clearly fighting back tears here. So are we.

Here's to Love. Here's to s great Nigerian couple. Good Ol' Love. God bless you Pa Olu, even if you can't know this, you are loved, very loved and lucky to do life with Big momma J.

Ma'am, you have been a class act, standing tall and strong not with murmuring or irritation but with dignity, endurance and poise, proud of your darling husband through it all, still taking photo shoots, creating even more good memories and tending to him with the dignity he deserves. No doubt, personalizing your wedding vows of: "in sickness and in health...".

Some may be able to do it too. Not many people can do it this way. A match made in the heavens truly.

Take your flowers Sir, Ma'am!
