  CSF's ruling (Courtesy CAF ) In the AFCON 2026 final , Senegal and host nation Morocco faced off. During the match, there was a situation. The coach ordered the players of the Senegalese national team to walk off the pitch in protest over what they termed biased officiating.  Senegal eventually returned to the pitch and finished match that it won. After lifting the trophy, the Moroccans woukd not have it so, petitioned CAT.  CAF',s ruling now gives the trophy to Morocco, taking the trophy away from Morocco. CAF said Senegal's walk off the pitch that day means it had abandoned the match and forfeited the trophy to Morocco.   The facts of this case can be likened to a criminality within criminality.  That a j udge reportedly asked Marshall Abubakar , counsel to  Omoyele Sowore , to kneel down during court proceedings. Sowore is currently standing trial on a two-count charge instituted against him by the Department of State Services (DSS). The charge occurs following the activist’s August 25 post on X , in which he described Bola Tinubu as a “criminal” in his reaction to the president’s remarks on corruption during a trip to Brazil. Judges are not known to be frivolous. Their conduct, demeanour and utterances are always clam, measured and elevating. Maybe that's for judges of old.  Is this the new normal? Nigerian lawyers disagree. In a statement signed by Afam Osigwe, NBA president today,  the body said the directive from the judge is not a “ recognised judicial sanction under our laws and does not align with the standards of judicial conduct expected on the Bench”.

After several months of deliberation, FIFA overruled Nigeria’s petition.   Spotify just released its report for 2025 and, Nigerian artistes  it  disclosed in Spotify’s annual  Loud & Clear  report, paint vividly the picture of a market that is booming both at home and abroad. According to Spotify,  Nigerian artist's revenue on Spotify rose by more than 140 per cent between 2024 and 2015, powered by both increased local consumption and stronger demand from listeners outside Africa. In 2025 alone, Nigerian musicians were streamed 30.3bn times which accumulated to 1.6bn listening hours. First‑time listeners discovered tracks by Nigerian artists more than 1.3bn times during the year, a 26 per cent increase from 2024. Local music also charted strongly on Spotify’s Nigerian charts , with Nigerian artistes featuring on more than 80 per cent of the streaming giant’s Daily Top 50 in the country.  A few days ago, His Eminence, Rev, Emmanuel Mobiyina Oschoffa , the son of late founder of Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) and current Pastor of the church, made a revelation.  Party electioneering normally should involve town hall meetings, political debates, rallies and robust discourse in the community one wants to contest or represent.  These would allow the aspirant to express his plans of action to the electorates in order to sway them to vote for him/her on election day.
