Jollof Rice & Afrobeats On Display, As King Charles Hosts Nigerians. (British Royal Family)
Give it to the British royals to fo know how to host guests really well!
Though Britain represents Nigeria:s colonial masters so, have very strong ties dating back to almost two centuries, the warmth and conviviality between the two countries keeps waxing stronger.
This was demonstrated just last night. King Charles, the British monarch, hosted selected members of the Nigerian Diaspora in the UK ahead of the approaching and highly anticipated State Visit of President Bola Tinubu to the monarch.. The visit is less than two weeks away now.
So, the king prepared to give his Nigerian guests a quintessential taste of Naija.
What other choice could that be but to serve jollof rice, our own jollof rice, as menu? Or, feel the soul of Naija pumping as sonorous Afriveats from Dele Sosimi and the Afrobeats Orchestra?
Many must have felt compelled to pinch themselves or peep out the window just to be sure they are not in a glamorous restaurant in Ikejs, Lagos.
What a royal treatment! The king sure did bring Nigeria to the guests who undoubtedly had a good time.
