President Tinubu, Call Iran Now! (Foreign,)
Presidents of many nations are calling Iran to express grave anxiety over the ongoing w@r in the country and particularly, quick and safe evacuation of their nationals from Iran.
The latest is Indian PM, Narendra Modi who called Tehran a few hours ago.
"(I) had a conversation with Iranian President, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, to discuss the serious situation in the region," adding, "(I) expressed deep concern over the escalation of tensions and the loss of civilian lives as well as damage to civilian infrastructure."
The Indian leader then reiterated that "the safety and security of Indian nationals, along with the need for unhindered transit of goods and energy, remain India’s top priorities".
From a diplomatic standpoint, it's clear that Modi wants Pezeshkisn to not only ensure no Indian suffer injury or fatalities, but he wants Iran to put measures in place to ensure swift mechanism are established to ensure that Indian companies based in Iran can repatriate their finances back to India.
This brief statement also wants Iran to safeguard the passage of "energy" which alludes to crude already purchased from the onset of the w#r, to India.
This is especially crucial as the w@r causing tensions in the oil route of Straits of Hormuz is already affecting the global prices of crude oil and petrochemicals generally.
Mentioning sage passage for "energy" is a reference to also ensure the tensions in the Straits where the oil tankers ti other parts of middle east and Asia will pass through is kept open.
This is profound as Iran has repeatedly made its intention of causing obstruction on the Strait of Hormuz in a sleight of hand intended to drag other nations in the area until the ongoing tension.
This is what Nigerian President Bola Tinubu should emulate. The oil prices in Nigeria has started fluctuating like two kids on a see-saw. The president ought to call the Iranian president to demand the safe passage of Nigerians in the country as well as discouraging closing the Strait while encouraging a quick resolution of the conflict.
Once there's price increase on fuel in Nigeria, there are quick rippling effect on all living expenses and cost of production.. So, many nugerians would love president Tinubu to call Iran to and lend his voice to this incident.
