Shameless APC and Weird Purchase of Forms For APC Nat'l Chair, Women Leader (Politics)
Nigerians are very creative people, no doubt. There are number ways that worldwide, there are trends and traits associated with them.
Fela gave the word Afrobeat, many generations following his innovation jumped on his back and added "s" at the end to call their afro pop fusion, Afrobeats.
In politics, we have interesting terms like "step aside" for leaving office and "stomach infrastructure" for politics driven by financial survival.
One relatively new practice that is becoming a thing with Nigerians politics. Late President Muhammad Buhari developed the concept while he use 6 contest the election several times before winning, a record four times.
It is the purchase of electoral forms by interest groups for a political figure in order to contest an election. At a point, ehen confronted with where he use to get the funds to purchase the highly expensive presidential forms from the actual umpire, he said friends and associates bought the firms for him. These forms cost millions of naira.
As the drums of election campaign is drumming once more, the practice is tearing its head once more
The ruling All Progressives' Congress (APC) officially announced today that "ahead of the forthcoming National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), support groups on Monday purchased nomination forms for the Party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, and National Women Leader, Dr. Mary Alile-Idele."

Similarly, women stakeholders drawn from across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), under the auspices of the Renewed Hope Women’s Network, gifted a cheque to the APC National Women Leader, Dr. Mary Alile-Idele, for her to Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms.
The electoral offices for which the forms are bought for are not mentioned.
It is the national party, the ruling party, that is even announcing this publicly that this is going on, and from the quarters of principal national officers of the party.
They are shamelessly using APC letterhead and official channels to announce this travesty.
Greed and self interests are at play here. For this means Yeltwada and Alile-Idele desire to contest electoral offices even though they are yet national exco of the party but they are playing coy for strategic reasons.
You don't find this anywhere but Nigeria. Can this occur in the US? Or, say, Kenya? Such party excos and the purchaser of forms for them would face the full wrath of the law.
Definitely, the exco members would be disgraced, and they will have no choice but to resign from office. It is a clear conflict of interest and in this case, abuse of office.
