APC Mourns, as Party Stalwart Dies (Passage/

This man had a robust, energetic day. It was crowned with his attendance at an Iftar dinner at Sheraton Hotel, Abuja, where his boss hosted eminent party dignitaries to break the Ramadan fast, March 6.

They all had a vibrant evening filled with happy talks, jokes and night hopes for the immediate future starting w the impending National Convention amidst a feast of good food.

The gathering dispersed at 9 pm in that atmosphere of conviviality. On getting home, this man complained to his wife that he could not breathe properly. She rushed him to the hospital. As emergency medical personnel rushed to wheel him in, he was already de@d. De@ad on arrival. 

Just over an hour and half after leaving the Sheraton Iftar dinner. 

 That is why the  All Progressives Congress (APC) is was shocked and deeply saddened by the death of the man,  a highly respected Party Chieftain, Dr. Chamberlain Dunkwu, at 54.

Felix Morks, national publicity secretary of APC, described Dunkwu as an energetic, selfless and loyal Party man who contributed enormously to building and strengthening the Party in his native Ika Federal Constituency, Delta state and beyond. 

Until his passing in the early hours of March 7, 2026, Dr. Dunkwu served as Deputy Chief of Staff (Legislative) to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, PhD, GCON. Prior, he was a Special Adviser on Members’ Affairs to the Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.

A Knight of Saint Christopher (KSC) and President of the Nigerian Aquatics Federation (NAqF), Morka lamented that Dunkwu lived a vibrant life of service and  philanthropy that touched many within and beyond his homeland and that his exit has created a yawning void that will be difficult to fill. 


Our Party prays God to grant his immediate family the fortitude to bear this huge loss. And may He comfort all members of the APC family in Ika Federal Constituency, Delta State and around the country at this difficult time.
