Many football players often experience what Mega Mode Media can call "Big Bucks Curse", because many of them earn mega bucks while using their trade in clubs around the world.
But, they often forget their skill is very fragile and has been quick expiration dates. They can get serious injury at any time which can spell the end of their careers, or their contracts can end and not be renewed at any time and of course, they age and just cannot continue playing professional football any longer.
Any or the combination of these factors can spell the end of a football career. When this happens, naturally the big bucks stops. Continued wealth and survival of the now former player now depend on how savvy he was with his finances in his playing days.
Some like Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Etim Esin, Daniel Amokachie, even Austin Okocha whose friend duped him, and so on were all football players who mismanaged their success and are now not financially secure.
The new generation of football players especially the ones from Nigeria have learnt from this lesson. They are now enduring they adequately secure the bags.
One of these is Nigerian and Galatasaray player, Victor Osimhen. He is at the peak of his career right now yet, he is currently planning for life after football.
He is about to buy a renowned Turkish football club called Istanbulspor. Founded in 1926, the club is one of the oldest club sides in Turkey. Though its fortunes dipped over the years m, its historic record and steady though trophy+less position in the leagues makes it an attractive option for investors.
But, Osimhen has other plans for Istanbulspor. The 26-year-old wants to establish a "football bridge" between Nigeria and Türkey, by creating a structured passage for young African talent to develop and eventually reach European football.
Under the reported plan, Osimhen eants to open a football academy branch named after the club in Nigeria. The academy would focus on scouting and developing young players from grassroots levels to Istanbulspor, where th Turkish club would propel the football careers of these young discoveries to more visible European club sides.
That is one surefire way to a king the "Big Bucks Curse" and secure wealth.
Beyond that, the love Turkey has enveloped him and his family is reciprocated by this development. It shows Osimhen wants to permanently keep his ties with the country regardless of where else he goes, where he would return to often.
