When president Tinubu announced the the commencement of construction the Calabar coastal highway, many Nigerians groaned inwardly. Some groaned out loud. Everyone thought: "another white elephant project, which will help huge billion with nothing to show for it eventually."

This because Nigeria is littered with such "abandoned projects" which will be flagged with huge fanfare and expensive budgets but zero completion or results. Like the Absolute Steel Complex, the Fourth Mainland Bridge, purported Nigeria Air national carrier which was launched with billions but no single aircraft was purchased till date. Nigeria Air has no office even. It was just an idea convicted by former minister of aviation, Hadi Sirika, endorsed by the Buhari administration and "launched" on paper with billions of naira expended.

With that mindset, many nugerians were bemused resignedly knew this is another exercise in futility.

Mega Mode Media embarked on an investigation of the project yesterday. Entrance ti the highest is via Kursmo Waters by Bar Beach, Lagos . And, straight up, you are on the coastal highway. The roads are well constructed, with at least eight inches deep of laterite. The minimum requirement, according to Bolaji Peters, an engineer, is six inches. "This will ensure its durability," he said.

From entrance on to the coastal highway, it is a smooth drive down to Ogombo towards the entrance road leading to Lekki Phase II and Abraham Adesanya estates. From there, it connects to Eleko and Epe on to *badan. But, the ones expressly confirmed by Mega Mode Media is from entry point at Kursmo Waters to Ogombo is fully finished.

Fully equipped solar street lighting is also constructed for daytime-loke visibility.

Security is no issue. At certain junctures, there are fully armed police officers watching over the surroundings like a hawk.

The roads are very free of traffic. Fir those commuting from the mainland to other areas in Lagos island, e.g,, Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Lekki, Banana island to other areas like Ajah, Lekki phase II, Abraham Adesanya estate, Ogombo, Ibeji Lekki, Eleko, Epe and so on, the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway is your fastest route.

Even if travelling to neighbouring states like Iyi state, this route is a faster alternative than ,getting stuck in traffic on the Lekki expressway

For a fact, Mega Mode Media can authoritatively confirm that the project is commencing and not, just a paper project. ,

Mega Mode Media investigations also reveal that  there is another reason for the construction. President Tinubu sidestepped the Fourth mainland bridge for a strategic reason. The bridge begins and ends in Lagos state. But, the coastal highway encompasses nearly all southern states of Nigeria. The road starts in South West to terminate in the south South region.

So, his popularity and legacy will span across several states with one project. Just like the Third mainland bridge is former President Ibrahim Babangida 's legacy in Lagos, this project will be a very giant testament to his legacy across several states.

Besides, this newspaper further learnt that the multi-state highway will be completed soonest. It is a key project that President Tinubu intends to use as a living proof of his administration's successes.

It is also, election season, the opening will be timed to perfectly flag off Tinubu's second m-term presidential election.

I'm the end, Nigerians will get a living real life feel of the dividend of democratic governance with this project. That's all that matters.
